Welcome to the online gateway to the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, situated within the magnificent Crow Creek Indian Reservation. This sacred land, known as Dakota: Khąǧí wakpá okášpe and Lakota: Kȟaŋğí Wakpá Oyáŋke, is nestled along the eastern bank of the mighty Missouri River, spanning across parts of Buffalo, Hughes, and Hyde counties in central South Dakota, USA. Encompassing a vast expanse of 421.658 square miles, it serves as the ancestral home of our tribe, a community with deep roots in Lakota culture. The heart of our sovereign nation lies in the capital town of Fort Thompson, located in close proximity to the awe-inspiring Big Bend Dam. This dam, a remarkable feat of engineering, harnesses the power of the Missouri River, forming the breathtaking Big Bend Reservoir, also known as Lake Sharpe. Established as part of the Pick-Sloan Plan in 1944 for flood control and hydropower, it stands as a testament to our enduring connection to the land and the waters that sustain us. We invite you to explore our website and discover the stories, traditions, and resilience of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe.
